Susie Ibarra is honored and excited to be a 2020 National Geographic Explorer Grantee in Storytelling for her project Water Rhythms: Himalayan Glacier Soundscapes in collaboration with Michele Koppes and their sound and science team. More on this and story map coming soon!

She is also very honored and happy to announce as of Dec 2019, she has signed with Zildjian Cymbals. Susie Ibarra plays Constantinople Rennaissance and Medium Rides and 14 inch hihats, Kerope K 18 and 19 cymbals, Zildjian Sweet Ride K 23 ” and Sweet K crash, and some fabulous prototype small cymbals cut as bells. The instruments are beautiful. More on these instruments both cymbals and gongs soon!

MXTX A Cross Border Exchange
Golden Hornet commissions Susie Ibarra to compose a work alongside 11 other composers for an ensemble from Mexico and Texas . “MXTX will be a live performance, album and an open- source audio sample library crossing physical and social boundaries.” Premieres will be Mexico City, Austin and Marfa, Texas in 2021.
