This is a book of scores and paintings. Large paintings began after visiting an ancient cottonwood tree where two rivers meet. Listening to low deep frequencies, working with Susie Ibarra's tree fractal equation that bring up important information for long durational cycles, working with breath, voice, materials, scale and rhythm. The heat and length of the day and night, winter storms, seasonal creeks, low and King tides.
I invite you into these paintings with the intention of listening with these cycles of life. They are embedded with water rhythms, and tree frequencies from Hill Nisenan and Southern Chumash Territories, the American River Canyon in Northern, CA, Santa Ynez Mountains, the Buena Ventura River, and ocean ecologies in Southern California.
